If you're a die-hard Walking Dead fan, then you're probably asking, "When does the Walking Dead come back?" Actually, if you're a die-hard fan, you probably already know the Walking Dead returns on February 14, 2016. Just in time for Valentine's Day. How romantic!
To tide you over until then, we have some recommendations of books to read if you're a fan of the Walking Dead:
A Plague of Zombies: An Outlander Novella
by Diana Gabaldon
If you had to choose what you loved more, zombies or Outlander, would you be able to choose? Good news: Now you don't have to. Diana Gabaldon has written a fabulous zombie-themed novella set in the world of Outlander. Win-win.
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
by Seth Grahame-Smith
I always meant to reading the original Jane Austen classic but it just sounded so boring (*ducks the inevitable thrown tomatoes*). But add in a few zombies and that's a totally different story. One I'd actually like to read. Now when people talk about Mr. Darcy I can act like I know what they're talking about (while envisioning his brains being chomped by the undead of the British Regency).
Zombie Coloring Book
by Nick Snels
Adult coloring books are all the rage, so why not make them even more fun by coloring zombie-style? We can't guarantee they'll be as relaxing as their not-undead counterparts, but they'll definitely entertain you.
The Very Hungry Zombie: A Parody
by Michael Teitelbaum and Jon Apple
This book is sitting on my shelf, safely out of reach from my children's hands. While I let them read The Very Hungry Caterpillar to their hearts' (and brains', mmm brains) content, this little gem of a parody is for my eyes only. Mainly because it's just scary enough to give the kiddos nightmares, while still being a delightfully enjoyable read for any adult.
So Now You're a Zombie
by John Austin
This "Handbook for the Newly Undead" will help you—freshly among the ranks of the zombies—learn to adapt to your new life. Sure, there are downsides of being a zombie (that disgusting smell is YOU) but there are upsides too (you no longer have to go to work!).
The Zombie Survival Guide
by Max Brooks
It's all fun and games until zombies take over the world. Then what do you do? Are you ready? Are you SURE? This book provides "trusted, proven tips" which is either a fib or means THERE ARE ALREADY ZOMBIES LIVING AMONG US. Do you really want to take that chance? Didn't think so.
